Moreton Money is a program designed to encourage local spending and to support economic sustainability of the Moreton Bay local business community. Moreton Money empowers the community to act on supporting those local small businesses.
#TeamMoretonBay are rallying locals to back a local business by purchasing and gifting a Moreton Money gift card. Any money put on a Moreton Money gift card can be used to buy goods and services at participating businesses within City of Moreton Bay.

The whole idea of the Gift Card is to engage the community to spend locally at participating businesses in the City of Moreton Bay, keeping the money local!
Moreton Money cards are valid for three years. You can choose to spend your Moreton Money gift card balance at hundreds of businesses across the City of Moreton Bay. Checking your card balance is made easy by simply clicking on Check Your Balance.

Local businesses who want to become part of the program and accept Moreton Money gift cards can register their interest by completing the Moreton Money gift card business registration form.
You must have an existing EFTPOS, PayWave or Tap & Pay system and be a locally owned Moreton Bay business.
After completing the registration form, one of the program’s partners will contact you to be onboarded with your marketing collateral.
Your terminal will be activated geographically using the details supplied on the business registration form. You will receive communication from Why Leave Town, the administrators of the program through every step of the process. Learn more about the terminal activation process here.
Local small businesses based in Moreton Bay can signup to the program for free. It is no longer compulsory to be a member of a partnered business group, however you may choose to be associated with one of the business or chamber groups listed below. Simply select the group you wish to be connected with and a representative will be in contact to discuss membership benefits.
Local franchisees must join a partnered business group to participate in the program. When a franchisee is also a member of a local business group it identifies them as a leading local business owner who is committed to supporting the small local business eco system.

The traditional Moreton Money Gift Cards (i.e. the original version of the card with the eftpos logo on it) can only be used in a select number of local businesses as not all terminals will accept these types of cards. You can see a full list of the businesses that accept the traditional Moreton Money Gift Cards by using the filter buttons in the business listing at the bottom of this page. Alternatively, if you would like to convert your current physical eftpos card to a digital card you can do this by filling out the ‘Convert your physical card to a digital card’ form located on the digital gift card info page. Please note that there is also a transaction fee of $6.60 that will be taken from the value of your card in the conversion process.
Moreton Money has recently evolved from the TRADITIONAL eftpos physical gift cards, to a NEW LOOK digital gift card and a physical chip gift card. The NEW LOOK digital cards (physical and phone wallet) enhance the shopping experience for local shoppers and can also be accepted at a wider range of businesses in the City of Moreton Bay. All businesses within the Moreton Money network are able to accept both the digital gift cards and the physical chip cards. However, only certain businesses have the required hardware to accept the traditional physical eftpos swipe gift card.
